MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN ? PERMANENT CONTRACT

CORK SIMON COMMUNITY ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR THE
POSITION OF MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN.
_OBJECTIVE OF THE POST:_ To maintain the Community?s properties so
they are fit for purpose by service users, volunteers and staff. The
role includes tasks in three broad areas of work ? routine and
preventative, renovation and improvements and emergency and unplanned
responsive work.
The objective will be fulfilled using a range of specific skills as
outlined in the Personal Specification (see below).
_KEY DUTIES OF THE ROLES INCLUDE:_
* Lead the Maintenance Assistant/General Operative team to carry out
routine tasks necessary for the running and upkeep of the properties
* Report damage, deterioration, and hazards to the Team Leader/Line
Manager as necessary
* Lead the Maintenance Assistant/General Operative team to carry out
renovations
* Liaise with appropriate staff on projects to work through any
challenges with the planned works
* Respond to and assess emergency and high priority unplanned work
(callouts) and arrange for appropriate actions from within team.
* Provide appropriate records relating to all purchases of goods and
services.
* Apply a good working knowledge of current regulations & standards
relating to safety in emergency, social and rented housing
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POST WILL:
* Be a fully Qualified Carpenter (or similar qualified trade), with
minimum of 2 years? experience in practical working environment
* Have knowledge of general property maintenance & repair
* Have completed manual handling & safety training
* Have knowledge of health and safety Requirements
* Have knowledge of regulatory standards for rental & social
accommodation
* Be available for on call duties
